Size: 10 mm
Found in fast-flowing water, Kananaskis River, Kananaskis, AB. Does not appear to have legs/brushes/etc. One end is "swollen" in size. No apparent head capsule. Apologies if this is some kind of worm?

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

Most likely Hexatoma sp., but need to see the spiracular lobe to be certain.

Hexatoma
Agree that this is a very good possibility. I have just added a (not great) photo of the spiracular disc. Four lobes.

First thought
My first thought when I saw the picture was a Buprestid beetle larva, but since it was found in flowing water with no apparent head capsule, I'm a bit stumped.

The head reminds me of a drag
The head reminds me of a dragonfly. Do you have any more pictures? Particularly of the swollen end? Or of the other end?
