Small Blue Damsel - Ischnura verticalis

Small Blue Damsel - Ischnura verticalis
Pekin, Tazewell County, Illinois, USA
Size: small maybe 1/2 an inch
Found midafternoon, on a dead lilly. Within feet of a lake, and there were hundreds of these guys around. Very small compared to what I've been seeing.

looks like
A female Eastern Forktail (Ischnura verticalis)

Thanks, I was hoping the pic
Thanks, I was hoping the pic was sufficient. It looks much better at normal resolution. I practically had the lens touching the little thing. I have some shots of a damsel that is half that size and a lilac lavender color as well. Unfortunately, those don't look very good at a size appropriate for this site. I have a hard time shrinking my photos down, so I don't often post them.

Have you tried Irfanview?
Have you tried Irfanview? It's a really dumbed-down (and free) image manipulator that is only a little similar to Adobe's Photoshop. It lets you scale an image size up or down without affecting the quality as drastically as other things I have tried.
