Fly with prey? - Cerotainia macrocera

Fly with prey? - Cerotainia macrocera
Geneva, Ontario County, New York, USA
July 15, 2007
Size: maybe 6 mm?

Cerotainia
macrocera. Antenna are quite a bit longer than Atomosia.

That works
Thank you!

Robber Fly
I would bet on genus Atomosia, see what you think.

I see what you mean, I think
The head is almost all eyes, and the thorax is very round, like other flies identified as Atomosia puella. And the form of the antennae is right too.
