Flesh Fly

Flesh Fly
Barrie, Ontario, Ontario, Canada
July 24, 2007
Size: 1 1/2 cm or so.
I'm pretty sure this is a flesh fly because of it's markings.... the stripes on it's thorax and checkered pattern on it's abdomen. I'm not sure if there are other flies that look similar to this.

Sarcophaidae looks good.
I further suspect genus is Sarcophaga, but am not qualified to make that call. BTW, I think this is a female, due to the eye spacing, which is wider than that of the male. (Holds true on many flies, syrphids notably.)
