No, at the present time
we only move images into the guide that are from North America, north of Mexico. Other images, from Mexico or Bermuda or Puerto Rico or Hawaii or elsewhere will need to wait until there is an expansion of range for BugGuide.

Moved from Hawaiian bugs.

We don't move Hawaiian bugs into the Guide...
...even if they can be identified. BG does not yet officially cover Hawaii, so specimens from there are being kept on the "Hawaiian Bugs" page until the community decides (if it ever does) to expand the coverage area. This should be moved back--along with the other specimens you moved.

Thanks!

this species
occurs in the contiguous U.S. as well; does that make it an exception?

No
The only time an exception might be considered is if we had a Hawaiian specimen but did not yet have any specimens from the mainland. In that case, the Hawaiian image could be posted to the Guide as a "placeholder" until an image from within the Guide's coverage area became available. See the image below for an example (a photo from Mexico depicting a species known to be found in Texas):

Once an image from within the coverage area has been posted, the placeholder will be frassed/deleted.
