Mydas Fly For Illinois In August - Mydas clavatus

Mydas Fly For Illinois In August - Mydas clavatus
Norris City, White County, Illinois, USA
August 1, 2007
Data posting for this species in Illinois, for the month of August.

I don't know how long these things live, but this may be the same specimen I posted on June 21st. I know I've seen one just like this then, and in July and they have all been in the exact same place. I've even got a shot of a pair mating, possibly this very one, if that is needed for the guide.

Mating photo - why not?
We don't have any yet. Often mating photos of flies are useful - at least to me - as they can help define whether or not the eyes vary by gender.
