How do you tell apart P. maculosa from P. beta?

Check the posterior dorsal part of the large abdomen
In maculosa there is a longitudinal narrow middorsal stripe.
In beta there is a longitudinal broad middorsal pattern (never a narrow stripe).
Due to the deformed image (a fronto-dorsal perspective), the posterior middorsal stripe seems short, but in reality it is long in maculosa.
