Andrew, I just submitted this moth so you could see the comparison. . Divoribird also posted one. In the case of your moth, I am not sure that your photo shows enough definition to place, but I think you can safely identify it in your records.

The moth in question had a very distinct Eupithecia-like outline of the spread wings (and Leptostales pannaria color with a rusty hue.)
It will be a difficult call to identify it from the imperfect photo.
I was interested in placing it at least in a correct Genus, because I saw that moth the fist time since I moved to Austin five years ago.
I appreciate your help -

Well, I gave you my best opinion. I think the angle of your photo is not square and thus the Eupithecia-like outline that you mention. At least that is my 'read" - as well as the fact that I do not know of any rust/purple colored Eupithecias.
