Range
Range poorly known, but seems most common in Texas. Also found in New Mexico, Oklahoma, Iowa, and New York.(1)
Remarks
According to Bothrops07, seems to be densely populated in very small locations, and absent everywhere else. In Oklahoma, most often found in tall grassland in broomsedge bluestem, but can also be found on ragweed, milkweed, saplings, and fences. Seems to overwinter in the bark of persimmon trees and the densest low spots in bluestem. In New Mexico, most often found on mesquite trees.
