I agree- this looks like Chloraspilates minima to me. I have a similar recent image I'll submit now

Hal, I have thought that I have C. minima also, but the Texas Lepidopterist Society has never recognized a specimen in Texas. They much think all of our color variations are of the same species. I sent one to BOLD and it also came back identified as C. bicolorata. See the discussion here
. I just posted my BOLD submission. I had an even browner one the same night but it got damaged

Chloraspilates bicoloraria
Thanks Ann. That was very useful. I have another photo I took last night which shows the contrasting, browner hindwing. Unfortunately, the photo is out of focus, so I haven't submitted it.
It is interesting that the Texas Lepidopterist Society doesn't recognize Chloraspilates minima in Texas. The range map on MPG shows on sighting west of San Antonio, so I assumed it was a Texas species. Just another example of the challenge in getting the species ID correct!

I am pretty sure this is
Chloraspilates bicoloraria
. Have sent a specimen to BOLD thinking I had something else to no avail.
The Texas Lepidopterist Soc. database does not show any other species in Texas.
