Acanthocephala thomasi

In mesquite grassland of the foothills of the Santa Rita Mountains

different individuals
This one has brownish hemelytra, thick hind femora, and an almost parallel-sided flange on the right hind tibia. Judging from the thickness of the hind femora, I think it's a male.

The other individual you posted has almost black hemelytra, relatively thin hind femora, and the flanges on its hind tibiae are wavy-margined, not parallel-sided. I think the last two features indicate it's a female.

Since these are different individuals, the photos should not be linked.
