In St. Louis, the species should be Auturus evides

Agreed
Moved from Millipedes.

Is the sighting date correct?

Visually, there is almost no difference from Euryurus leachii.
If you did not have location info, or if it was near a border between species, you would need to examine male gonopods.

As a general rule though, most anything West of the Mississippi within the family Euryuridae would be in the Genus Auturus, until you get to the Southern part of the US.

Good catch. Are there published photos or drawings of the gonopods that I could reference? I have the equipment to get a good look at them and would like to be reasonably certain of their ID if possible. I am in St. Louis city and not too far from the Mississippi.
