considerations
Dear Jim,
my thought is that installing subdivisions in bugguide is useful only in big families, and when it is useful also for learned amateurs to navigate within the family. This will not be the case in Coccinellids.

Yesterday evening, I have again identified a Scymnus haemorrhoidalis (palearctic species), and it just looks like yours! There is a Nearctic one, S.fraternus (synonym: S.haemorrhous) - but it may not be the same as yours (body shorter!).
I think, however, that "Scymnus sp" will be a good label to store this one.

Scymnus sp.
. . . at least in the wider sense. In Europe today the genus is split up into at least 4.

Subfamily Scymnidae.
We don't have subfamilies under Coccinellidae yet in bugguide, with the result that any posting of unknown genus is doomed to sit a great long while on the family page. Maybe it's time we inserted some subfamilies there.
