Oh, and I got the ID.. it's Dermestes frischi based on http://www.dermestidae.com/Abbildungen.html and the California Beetle Project. You can see the tan edging of the pronotum with the slight bulge at the posterior end. The spots on the bottom plates (tergites?) match too, as does the marking on the pygidial plate

As for specimens, thank you for the offer, which I will decline. I'm a "bring 'em back alive" sorta guy. In other words, I want to personally collect what I photograph. I enjoy that aspect more than the photography.
