Horse or Deer Fly? - Tabanus nigrescens

Size: about 1"
It was on the inside of a patio door, the backlighting was intense so flash was used. It looked a lot darker than appears with the fill flash.

Can't see enough
characters to be 100% certain but from what I can see it seems most likely tb be a female T. nigrescens; new for BG.

Horse fly.
This is a female of either Tabanus or Hybomitra. Hopefully, Tony Thomas will comment on this one:-)
