Planthopper - Anotia bonnetii

Planthopper - Anotia bonnetii
Pennington, Mercer County, New Jersey, USA
August 6, 2007
I was strolling through a field and found this bug. Both of my guides failed to even narrow this down to a family. Any help would be appreciated.

Anotia bonnetii
Note the dark belt around the abdomen.

Nice bug!
It reminds us of one of the Anotia in the Derbidae, see . That will give you a nice start, but wait till you hear from Dr Hamilton, who will give you a firm ID.

Anotia Planthopper
