Maple Looper Moth - Parallelia bistriaris - Parallelia bistriaris
Riverton, CT, northeastern us County, Connecticut, USA
July 26, 2007
Size: A little over an inch
Having a lot of trouble identifying this one exactly, especially with the topmost line being nearly straight across. It was quite shiny and a bronzey-pinkish in color.

Moved
Moved from Moths.

This moth is a Maple Looper M
This moth is a Maple Looper Moth. Since there is not data point in bugguide for Connecticut, I suggest moving this image to the Maple Looper page.

hm...
I didn't put it in Moths to begin with (just had it in ID Request), but I will try to see if I can move it to the Maple Looper page.

I think
it's a Maple Looper Moth - Parallelia bistriaris. Take a look and see what you think.

yay!
Well done - that's definitely it! And I wasn't even close...usually I do better than that!

(I'm new at this, does this mean I should delete the ID Request? Or do something else?)

Don't feel
alone, I really blow it a lot here, but thanks to some nice peeps, I get straightened out. 8-) As far as deleting request I really don't know being a beginner here too. I'd just let it ride, perhaps adding the new ID to the subject line which I see done a lot.
