Size large; M and Cu veins in front wings strongly divergent(3); larvae have long cylidrical bodies, tapered at both ends, sharp mandibles that curve outward like tusks, long fringed antenna, three cauda (anal filaments); legs adapted for digging(4)

Streams, lakes and nearby; larvae burrow in sand, silt; adults come to lights
