Regal Moth? - Citheronia regalis

Regal Moth? - Citheronia regalis
Norfolk, Virginia, USA
August 5, 2007
Moth was attracted by bright mercury vapor light the previous night. Stayed on window screen throughout the day. I guess the bright coloration kept the birds from eating it.

I have this moth in my collection
and i believe it is the Royal Walnut Moth

Vernacular names
I think it's another name of the same species...

Citheronia regalis
Of course!

Thanks
Francesco! I will move this image to the guide page.
