Rob R. Fly, our tai chi companion - Mallophora fautrix - female

Rob R. Fly, our tai chi companion - Mallophora fautrix - Female
Smoketree, Irvine, Orange County, California, USA
August 4, 2007
We play tai chi every Saturday morning and had a visitor last time out. One theory was that Rob came to observe our calm, soothing movements. Another, more skeptical opinion was that he landed under the eaves to escape a Phoebe. Any way, he was kind enough to pose on the building so I could get several shots.

Rob left and returned, whereupon this in-foliage photo was taken at the behest of Michel Oren, artistic director, who selected the setting. Bich Nguyen, our gentle D.D.S., served as bee wrangler, carefully prodding Rob into just the right spot. Thanks to both!
