Perillus exaptus

Perillus exaptus
Petroglyphs Provincial Park near Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
July 15, 2004
Size: about 9mm
Checked this one against specimens in The Univesity of Guelph insect collection. Three species of this genus in Ontario, this one the least commonly collected, probably as it is a bit more northern in range than the other two. Other specimens of this species showed the back stripes as having more pink in them than shown here.

Page made
I made pages for the two Perillus species. Would the third Ontario species happen to be P. circumcinctus, as shown at Cedar Creek?

Perillus
Since the original question posed by Joel that I could not answer, I have purchased Checklist of the Hemiptera of Canada and Alaska a National Research Council book, and yes the three members of Perillus in Ontario are:
bioculatus
circumcinctus
exaptus
