Aphid looks like Periphyllus.
Crematogaster are known to tend that genus.

We don't have a lot of these in the Guide--and we have none from Texas.

 
To genus yes.
I don't know of anything else that has those dark siphunculi pointing out to the side with dorsal cross-bands. Knowing hostplant would help.
