big-eyed beetle - Notiophilus semistriatus

big-eyed beetle - Notiophilus semistriatus
Adamstown, Frederick County, Maryland, USA
August 22, 2016
Size: 6 mm
Caught in an open pitfall trap between 22 and 25 August 2016. Habitat consists of an in-field production plant nursery surrounded by rotating production of soybeans and field corn (soybeans in 2016). This looks like a strange tiger beetle to me.
