Unknown flea-like insect - Arcitalitrus sylvaticus
West Covina, Los Angeles County, California, USA
March 28, 2017
Size: 1/4 inch

Moved, Arcitalitrus sylvaticus
Moved from ID Request. Looks good, and I presume it was found well away from the ocean?

Yes...
West Covina, Ca. is an hour from the ocean.
I don't feel that this Lawn Shrimp, or whatever it is, has any connection to the ocean.
It usually shows up dead on my cement front landing after a period of hot weather, following a period of wet weather. I have several large pots with artificial plants that they may be breeding in, but this is just a guess, because of their proximity to where I see them.

Something in Talitridae
Arcitalitrus sylvaticus is my best guess.
