Waved Sphinx? - Ceratomia undulosa

Size: ~50mm
We found this guy climbing up a tree trunk after the rain. We're thinking this is the Waved Sphinx, Ceratomia undulosa, based on Wagner pg 252. We don't remember the tree for sure but the bark does look like ash.
