Caterpillar - Datana major
Scotland County, North Carolina, USA

Size: 3 or 4 cm
This caterpillar was found in a longleaf pine stand with a thick understory of oak.

Looks like one of the Datana
Maybe Azalea caterpillars - Datana major , but they are all so similar :(
