I guess that it never made it. Oh, well! Technically this image would look a lot better if you cropped it and left the coin out. You can estimate the size and report it; that is a better way.

Hi Beatriz. Thank you for the suggestion, I did as you recommended. No, the pupa never made it. I had it sitting in a bug box but it got out and then my cat ate half of it :( I was very upset but nothing to do at this point. I am hoping to find another pupa on the same tree this season, nothing last year but I am keeping my fingers crossed for this year.

Apologies, Cocoon is what I meant, I hope to get a photo of the pupa after it ecloses in the spring. We will see :)
