Size: ~ 10 mm
Curt, tried to get a better image of the elytra surface from a couple of different angles. Seem to be quite a bit of setae and it's hard to tell what is larger setae and which is not. Looking at the A. extimum pictured at the Field Museum the setae looks very similar (http://fm-digital-assets.fieldmuseum.org/203/407/Agonum_extimum_PT_dorsal_habitus_czm2.jpg). I noticed that BugGuide doesn't have one to compare to, so hopefully this will be a new one for the guide.
Thanks for your help...and let me know.

Still can't quite make them out,
But everything else adds up to it being this species, and as you point out it compares well to other pictures online, so I'm convinced. I think the dense setae on the ventral surface is probably enough to clinch it, anyway. Thanks!
Reminds me just how many Agonum there are still to learn.
