If I'm correct that it is Phormia it will be the first BG photo for Wyoming

John is correct. Also, Phormia and Lucilia females do not normally have any green coloring on the top of the head.

Neomyia?
I think this is Neomyia (one pair of postsutural acrostichals). They breed in bovine dung. Are there bison or cattle in the area?

Lots and lots of bison dung. Sometimes I poke into a patio just to find the interesting insects.
