Naiad

Naiad
Austin, Travis County, Texas, USA
August 8, 2007
Saw this cute little naiad wriggling up onto a lily pad. This was in the midst of an aggregation of these damselflies , and the evidence of numerous molting youngsters was strewn about the pond area. I would guess that this was the same species of damselfly based on proximity, but it would only be a guess. To be honest I would only be guessing that it's a damselfly, but I think that would be a good guess.

As I mentioned on the damselfly photo, this was taken at Zilker Botanical Garden in Austin, and it was swarming with damselflies and Dragonflies of all sorts.
