Hundreds of these tiny insects were coming out of cracks near the window sill in one of my bedrooms when I first got the house. The bugs shown here have been dead for several years.

Psyllid.
This is a psyllid or "jumping plant louse," family Psyllidae, related to aphids. Some species are known for invading homes in the fall as they seek places to hibernate.
