Tiny Ant - Tapinoma melanocephalum

Tiny Ant - Tapinoma melanocephalum
Austin, Travis County, Texas, USA
August 11, 2007
These tiny ants seem to be a bit smaller than pharoah ants. The easiest way to tell them apart around the house is that these are dark anteriorly and light posteriorly. If you let them crawl on your skin, you can't feel them unless they stop to bite. They don't sting but do bite, I'm guessing if they perceive that you may be a food source. They gather around water and eagerly finish up squashed bugs or food scraps.

Nice
image.
Looks like a ghost ant, or at least in the same genus.
A common household pest. info

Thanks
I found another site with detailed description. All the characteristics, except number of teeth and similar features that are too small for me to see, check out, inclding smell.
