Huckleberry Sphinx - Paonias astylus

Huckleberry Sphinx - Paonias astylus
Guess Road at Mason Road, Durham County, North Carolina, USA
August 11, 2007
Found at a light, captured and posed. This is my second and the second for BugGuide. Apparently this is the least common of genus Paonias. Note the straight rear margin of the forewing, which distinguishes this species from others in its genus.

I'm not sure of the sex of this individual--its abdomen did have some curl, but was rather plump.
