Common Whitetail - Plathemis lydia - male

Common Whitetail - Plathemis lydia - Male
Beard Canyon Ranch, Wheeler County, Oregon, USA
August 1, 2007
We've tried to figure it out-- but there don't seem to be eight spots . . . Could it be a Common Whitetail? We would appreciate confirmation, correction, or any info.

Thanks!

Common Whitetail
It looks like a male Common Whitetail to me.
