gray-lined antlions

gray-lined antlions
Beaver, Beaver County, Utah, USA
June 19, 2007
Several antlions were fluttering around the light behind a restaurant at night. I noticed a struggle between these two, but by the time I got the shot off, the struggle was over.

The larger one (female?) has decapitated the smaller one (male?), whose head - with one antenna still attached - is lying on the pavement. The other antenna is a short distance away.
