Spilosoma? S. virginica, perhaps? - Spilosoma

Spilosoma? S. virginica, perhaps? - Spilosoma
Wartburg/Frozen Head State Park, Morgan County, Tennessee, USA
August 11, 2007
Relaxing on Sanguinaria canadensis (Bloodroot) leaf. If Spilosoma virginica is correct, this will be the first guide record for TN. What are the most important characters for separating the white species of Spilosoma? It looks like wing markings can be fairly variable. I noticed a lot of other guide images show orange abdominal markings. Wish I'd have known that before I saw this one...I would've poked and prodded a bit to get an abdominal shot.
