Spilosoma Virginica
I don't know, the legs don't look right for a Virginian Tiger Moth. I think they should be banded. Compare yours to this one and see what I mean:

I appreciate the comments. However, look at these links from the Moth Photographers Group:

S. virginica - Check out Jim Kennedy's image.

But, then again, there's always Steve Nanz's image of S. congrua here.

Both of these make me wonder how variable the degree of banding on the legs of either species might be. I suppose it'd just be safer to leave it at Spilosoma sp. Is that at least right?
