Giant water bug/ sometimes called a toe biter
This critter can inflick a nasty bite if you grab it or are holding it. It has a piercing mouth piece. It is predacious on other water insects, small fish, tadpoles, small frogs and just about anything else that is in range of its grasp. They are commonly attracted to lights at night in warm weather. Females are the play girls in this species...they lay their eggs and attach them to the Males back who then protects them until they hatch. Once hatched the little minitures of their parents are on their own...infact they need to watch out from members of their own species, including their parents who may eat them.
