This shining metalic leaf beetle was very common on dogbane shrubs along a lakeshore in dry Yellow Pine forests.

It looks like the Dogbane Lea
It looks like the Dogbane Beetles we have around here (sort of, if it were green). I'm not an expert but that would be a place to start.
