Melanocanthon ID help

Hi all,

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, I'm new to the site!

I have a Melanocanthon specimen, and I've been unable to find guidance on determining species. The specimen was found on sandy soils in Indiana.

By the ranges listed on this site, I would assume it's Melanocanthon nigricornis, but I've also found reference to Melanocanthon bispinatus in our area. Are there any keys available to help with this determination?

I can take pictures if needed, please advise what characters I should be looking at.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Looks like
Genitalic dissection is needed to be sure, but next would be range...

Key recommendation?
I'm ready to try genitalia dissection on this Melanocanthon to confirm ID, but I've been unable to find a species-level key. Any recommendations?

I've found reference to Halffter 1958, Dos nuevos géneros de Canthonini but I've been unable to track it down.

Copy- thanks for the insight.

I'm calling it nigricornis until proven otherwise :)
