Ground Beetle - Calosoma

Ground Beetle - Calosoma
J. Clark Salyer National Wildlife Refuge, North Dakota, USA
June 14, 2003
Any ID guesses?

Moved
Moved from Ground Beetles.

Calosoma calidum?
Those big yellow spots look like the ones on C. calidum (22 mm), a species that occurs across Canada and presumably the US.

Carabus species.
Looks very similar to the carabas picture in the Peterson Field Guide.
