the antennae rule out that option straight away

What about Large-horned Bruch
What about Large-horned Bruchids (genus Megacerus)? They have rather dramatic antennae.

But you are right, Dermestidae looks like a better choice, considering overall size and antennae.

many members of unrelated beetle lineages have dramatic antennae
[well, define 'dramatic'...]
