Syrphid fly in back, bee in foreground.
Bet you get a better ID on the bee, but the fly could be very tough.

More specifically
Thats a bumble bee in the foreground. Most likely a
Bombus rufocinctus
(based on its color and your location), but I would hold out for an opinion from someone who knows bees better. I am going to unlink these and frass your first image, as this one is better.
