Pollen beetle - Nemognatha

Pollen beetle - Nemognatha
Manteca, San joaquin County, California, USA
August 22, 2007
Size: 1/2 "
This is the first time I saw a Beetle intersted in pollen . He was on a wild Sunflower and covered in pollen . He had his head dug into the pollen like a Carpenter Bee does . He looked very busy and although Bees were dive bombing him , he did not seem to care . Any comment would further my buggie knowledge , thanks , Beth ... the shutterbug
