Larva at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens - Malacosoma americanum
Gainesville, Alachua County, Florida, USA
March 14, 2005
Although I searched everywhere we stopped, this (and another very much like it) was the only caterpillar I found during 10 mostly rainy days in Florida. Help with the ID will be appreciated.

????
Surely this is an Eastern Tent Caterpillar, Malacosoma americanum

Thanks, Tony
I also ran into it a few minutes ago at the FloridaNature.Org website. One of these days I hope to have a Caterpillars-by-the-Colors series of plates at MPG.
