Sierra Dome Spider - Neriene litigiosa

Sierra Dome Spider - Neriene litigiosa
Lacey (near Olympia), Thurston County, Washington, USA
August 24, 2007
I'm hoping the web description will help with this guy: it spins a flat sheet and then a complete half sphere above it forming a dome, then sits upside in the center of the top of the dome.

This guy was vexing me greatly in the back yard as it was always ventral side up, I could never get a good angle on it, and it's so close under the back patio that it's always in shadow. Flash lights him up to much, and he overexposes. Could not get a good shot of him to save my life. Then found his cousin here with identical markings and domed web in the front yard. Much better lighting, and high enough up that I could get a decent look at his dorsal surface.

Any ideas on family even? The domed web is *really* cool.
