Hornet Like Bee - Euodynerus megaera

Hornet Like Bee - Euodynerus megaera
Maplesville, Chilton County, Alabama, USA
July 2, 2017
Size: 1 inch
This appears to be a hornet, but he looks a little different than others I've seen. He is perched on a Christmas Fern. White collar around neck. I'm not sure if his wings have a tint of blue or if that is a photographic anomaly.

Female - Eumeninae
This looks like a female Euodynerus megaera. Hold on for an expert.
