Hadrurus arizonensis

Hadrurus arizonensis
Beaver Dam Wash, Washington County, Utah, USA
April 6, 1990
An example of H.a. arizonensis (Iuridae).

Female?
Kerry, do you know for sure that this is a female? If so, I think that my scorpion is a male of this species, but I'm not sure yet. Thanks

Misidentification
This is a Buthid, species uncertain, but definitely NOT the Hadrurus

Buthid?
The only buthid I know of at this location would be a species of Centroides. Which this is clearly not. Of the various keys I have available, this specimen ends up as Hadrurus arizonensis. What reference has lead you to this conclusion?

id h.arizonensis
This is a gravid female giant hairy or h.arizonensis. You can see the embryo's.

Female, maybe.
More likely overfed than gravid. This particular specimen was kept for over a year without any offspring showing up.
