Size: Inch and a half at least
Found several of these large sized caterpillars on my pin oak tree. They were huge... probably an inch to an inch and a half long... Any ideas?

I think this is a species of Datana.

On oak -
so we would again suggest Datana contracta as described in Wagner page 294 - Black and Cream striped.
