Ant dragging spider--a lemon ant?

Ant dragging spider--a lemon ant?
Ladys Island, Beaufort County, South Carolina, USA
July 7, 2017
This lone ant was pulling a grown spider at an amazing rate across the ground. Its mandibles are grasping the spider's leg. Other photos with better resolution would not upload. Hoping this is adequate to ID as lemon ant or not. Is it likely that the ant killed/paralyzed the spider as prey for the colony?

Spider prey
Hi MILTAs,
Thanks for the ID. Do you know any life history for these guys? Spiders as prey seems unusual for ants.
